I don't remember an exact moment where I knew I wanted to make photography my career. In college I was the one who always had her camera by her side (this was before the iPhone had a camera), capturing every moment. At some point I realized that the great big real world was fast approaching, and I needed to find something to do with my life. Eventually (after watching countless episodes of Say Yes to the Dress) I discovered a love for the wedding industry, and decided to explore the idea of becoming a wedding photographer. Fast forward 5 years, and you will regularly find me in disbelief that I get to do this for a living.

If I am not out location scouting, or capturing an adorable engagement session or beautiful wedding day, you can probably find me, wine in hand, watching The Bachelor(ette), Grey's Anatomy, or Keeping Up with the Kardashians (not proud), or catching rays at the lake or on a long walk on the 606. Or, if I am feeling particularly motivated, you might find me at spin class or hot yoga - pretending I am a world class athlete (I'm the farthest thing from it).

ABOUT BRITTA

A question I am often asked is, "what is your shooting style". That is a bit of a loaded question for me, and usually results in a lengthy explanation as to WHY I choose to shoot the medium I do, and my goal as a photographer as I enter each wedding day.
First and foremost I think it is important for my clients to know that to me, the main thing you get when you book me (besides a photographer with a stellar personality #wink) will be a collection of images that tells the story of your wedding day, or this time in your life. I want you to look back at your images and relive every single moment and emotion that you were feeling at that particular time, on that particular day
For wedding clients, I want you to also get the feeling of what it would be like to be a guest at your wedding, and see things from their perspective. This feeling came from my own experience as a Bride.

PHILOSOPHY

The day goes by so fast, and I knew that my guests were having fun, but I couldnt shake this feeling, in the months after, that I wish I could go back and relive the night as a guest, and see the celebration from a different (maybe a little less hectic, more stress free) perspective. I LOVED that my photos gave me what felt like a behind the scenes look at parts of the day I didn't even realize were going on.
For family and lifestyle clients, I want you to see the way you as a gorgeous individual, or you as a family look like from an outside perspective. I think it is so easy to get caught up in worrying about how we appear to the outside world, without ever realizing that we are our harshest critic. I want you to see the images of yourself or you and the ones you love and think WOW!! Look at me, look at us. This is what happiness and love (and maybe a little sleep deprivation) looks like - it is beautiful!
